Adult Mental Health First Aid consists of 2-hours of self-paced content followed by 5.5 hours of instructor-led training via Zoom. Mental Health First Aid is an early intervention public education program. It teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen nonjudgmentally and give reassurance to a person who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and how to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services.  Register online.

Youth Mental Health First Aid consists of 2-hours of self-paced content followed by 4.5 hours of instructor-led training via Zoom. Youth Mental Health First Aid is an early intervention public education program. The Branch County Suicide Prevention Coalition, coordinated by Pines, meets monthly on the third Thursday at noon at Pines or virtually depending on the pandemic circumstances.  The meetings are open to the public; please contact Lee David at 517-278-2129 if interested in being a part of discussing ideas, implementing strategies, and arriving to Zero Suicides for Branch County.

The Substance Abuse Task Force is coordinated by Pines and chaired by Public Director Scheid.  Committee members are diverse community members interested in preventing  substance use throughout Branch County. The meeting is held is each month on the second Tuesday of each month in Pines’ conference room at 9:00 a.m., and is open to the public.

Two day Behavioral Health Training to equip emergency responders with the tools they need to effectively recognize, respond, and mitigate a Behavioral Health Emergency.  Presented by Det. Bruce Morningstar, and Lisa Gentz.  Registration for this training is FREE but limited to 24 seats. The location is at Pines Behavioral Health, 200 Vista Drive, Coldwater from 8:00 – 4:00 each day.  To register, contact jericwaddell@thecardinalgroup2.com.
